Description: The College of Education and Human Ecology is seeking an innovative and visionary senior colleague to serve as an Associate or Full Professor (with tenure) of Learning Technologies in the Department of Educational Studies, and as the Founding Executive Director of the Learning Technologies Center, to begin in the 2016-2017 academic year. The successful candidate’s research will be theoretically grounded in a relevant discipline (e.g., economics, organizational theory, political science, public policy, sociology, history or statistics) and will use sophisticated quantitative or qualitative methodologies (e.g., econometric methodologies leading to causal inference, randomized control trials, case studies, ethnographies, survey design, and mixed-methods). The focus of faculty and students in Rossier’s K-12 Policy and Leadership concentration is on conducting rigorous research that can be directly applied to school, district, state and federal policymaking. Current faculty research interests include accountability at the teacher and school/school district levels, school choice, publicprivate partnerships, teacher quality and teacher labor markets, and education finance and governance. K-12 Policy and Leadership faculty not only conduct research that is relevant to education policy, but also often work with policymakers to help them contribute to, understand and utilize their research. Although the concentration is currently called “K-12 Policy and Leadership,” we welcome applicants who extend their research to prekindergarten, transitions between pre-k and K-12 as well as K-12 and higher education.
All K-12 Policy and Leadership faculty work with doctoral students and prioritize close mentoring and development of doctoral students. We are a collaborative group of scholars who often work together and with teams of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows on large-scale research intended to help policymakers improve K-12 education. Qualifications:Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in early childhood education. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in a dedicated area (e.g., infants and toddlers, curriculum, or a content area) related to preparing teachers of children between birth and 2nd grade. Candidates should supply evidence of an active research agenda, scholarly productivity, and other professional achievements relative to rank and experience. Evidence of success as a teacher educator at the college or university level is a must. Prior classroom teaching at the early childhood level is preferred.

Description:The Department of Educational Theory and Practice at the University of Georgia invites applications for a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor in its early childhood education program with expertise in K-5 teaching, integrating theory and practice in teacher education programs, and engagement in the scholarship of teaching. This is a full time, nine-month, renewable, appointment that begins August 2016. Although this position is not tenure track, it is not temporary and fulfills a critical role in a growing sector of the unit. In recognition of the important role that clinical faculty play, starting salaries for clinical faculty are the same as those for tenure-track faculty, and the university has a well-structured promotion system for individuals in clinical track positions for advancement. Description:Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning, the Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Mathematics Education position involves collaborating with faculty across the College of Education; teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels; supervising and assisting with field experiences; serving as a member of doctoral and educational specialist committees and chairing doctoral dissertations and specialist theses; and performing service to the department, college, university, regional schools, and professional community. Teaching mathematics education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and supervising candidates in the Department’s undergraduate Early Childhood (P-5) Education program is the primary focus of the position. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda involving regular publications, professional presentations, and external grant proposals; modeling effective teaching practices; and using instructional technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments. Description:All tenure track faculty members teach the equivalent of 12 hours per semester and maintain an active scholarly work in their field. This position would include both undergraduate and graduate teaching in the Early Childhood Education program.
Required Qualifications:Ph.D./Ed.D. or ABD (with degree completion by August 2016) in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Description:The Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology (HDQM), in the College of Education at the University of Maryland, invites applications for the position of Director for the Center for Young Children (CYC). The CYC Director is a 12-month, exempt staff position. The Center for Young Children is a laboratory school established in 1948 with a threefold mission: educating preschool and kindergarten children, providing professional development opportunities for preservice and in-service teachers and supporting research on children’s development and learning.
Responsibilities:The CYC Director will be expected to: provide leadership, expertise, and vision in the ongoing development and administration of the CYC (curriculum, licensing and accreditation, staffing, budgeting, etc.); facilitate school, community, and teacher education program partnerships; manage public relations, communications, and marketing; collaborate with county school system personnel regarding the special education needs of young children; support research and grant projects undertaken by UMD faculty, as well as actively facilitate communication between teachers and staff at the CYC and faculty and students conducting research at the CYC; collaborate with the Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education (EC/ECSE) faculty to facilitate the integration of the CYC into the EC/ECSE teacher education program; and develop, oversee and implement a five-year strategic plan.
